From my early days as an EMT after a medivac rescue in Mexico, to training in one of the country's most demanding Emergency Medicine programs, to serving communities from Los Angeles to Maui, one truth has always guided me: people deserve care that meets them where they are.
When I founded MODO, it was with a simple idea — to deliver the kind of medicine I would want for my own family: attentive, unrushed, trustworthy, and rooted in real connection. What began as a single vehicle making house calls has grown into a full team and multi-location practice, yet the heart behind it remains unchanged.

Laboratory testing.
Your MODO team will coordinate nationwide testing through our trusted partners, including Clinical Labs of Hawaii locally and LabCorp across the mainland.
- MODO Professional Lab Work: Blood draws can be done in our clinic or via house call.
- Clinical Labs of Hawaii: Walk into any of their locations. Receive a 40% cash discount on self-pay at their locations.
Lab tests will be billed through your insurance by the respective laboratory, separate from MODO. Ensure both MODO and the lab have your insurance details.
Your MODO provider will discuss final results with you, in-person or by phone.
Diagnostic imaging.
Your MODO team coordinates all nationwide imaging, including X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound on Maui through Maui Diagnostic Imaging and imaging services beyond Maui as needed.
- Walk-In X-Rays: No appointment necessary at Maui Diagnostic Imaging.
- Scheduled Imaging: Bookings required for MRI, CT, Digital Mammography, Ultrasound, and Bone Densitometry. To schedule or for more details, reach out to us or contact Maui Diagnostic Imaging directly at (808) 877-6402.
Imaging is billed separately through your insurance by the respective center, with a 50% self-pay discount available for cash payments at Maui Diagnostic Imaging.

Billing & payments.
At MODO MD, our goal is to deliver exceptional medical care that puts your health — and your time — first. Because we do not bill insurance directly, we're able to provide transparent pricing, immediate access, and concierge-level care without the delays, approvals, or paperwork that slow traditional healthcare down.
If your insurance is out of network, you'll still receive instant care, no wait times, direct follow-up, and extended access to our medical team. Upon request, we provide a detailed medical receipt with ICD-10 diagnosis codes, treatments rendered, and all required documentation (including HCFA form) to help you obtain reimbursement from your insurance carrier.
All travel insurance is welcome. We take HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account).
We work closely with our patients to support the reimbursement process, and all travel insurance plans are welcome. We're here to deliver fast, reliable medical care — without the complications of insurance-driven healthcare.

Are all services included in the membership fee?
While many services such as medical appointments, certain medications, and diagnostic tests are covered, some services may come with additional fees. Please consult our pricing in this guide for specific details.
Will I see the same provider every time?
It's not guaranteed, but if you have a preference for a specific provider, you can make a request. Regardless of who you see, all our providers are informed about your medical history and any previous visits to MODO.
Is there a Referral Program?
You bet! For every friend or family member you refer who becomes a member, you'll earn a $250 credit towards any of MODO's services.
Can I add more people to my membership plan?
Yes! We offer reduced family rates and special memberships for businesses and property owners.
Are my medical records kept confidential?
Absolutely. We strictly adhere to the guidelines set by HIPAA to ensure your medical records' confidentiality.
How do I request an appointment?
Call or text (855) 663-6847 to make an appointment.
How does the prescription refill process work?
All non-controlled medication refills can be sent to your preferred pharmacy at no extra charge. Please note that patients must initiate these refill requests; they are not auto-renewed.
Can MODO refill my controlled medication?
Yes, we can refill controlled medications. However, starting November 23, 2023, Hawaii requires in-person consultations for such refills. To ensure timely processing, notify our team at least 5 days before you need a refill. Membership plans may have additional fees for controlled substance refills.
Is my membership valid when I travel?
Of course! We offer virtual medical consultations globally. For in-person visits, we currently serve various locations in Hawaii, California, New York, Florida, and more. Please contact us to verify service availability in your travel destination.
How long is my membership active for?
Your membership is an annual fee and will be automatically renewed each year. A renewal email reminder will be sent out one month prior to your renewal date. If you wish to cancel at this time, you will have that option.
